The
University of Delaware is organizing a series of dialogues between
scholars from the Middle East and American scholars and the public.
The dialogue will take place in January 2009. The dialogue is funded
by a state department cultural exchange grant.
The dialogue will
essentially explore the role that faith plays in America and in Muslim
societies in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. It will attempt to bring a shared
understanding to bridge the widening gulf between America and the
Muslim World.
The topics that
will be covered include the role of faith in the public sphere,
Interfaith relations, US-Muslim relations, President Obama and the
Muslim World, Anti-Americanism and Islamophobia.
We will use this
portal to share the dialogue with all those who seek to participate.
Video, pictures and articles that will come out of this dialogue will
be posted here. |
