Michael P. Todaro has the right idea in defining developing nations as countries depending on more powerful nations because of what they lack in area economics, technology, health of their citizens, and the list goes on. Then on the other hand, the UN has a good view of developing nations as well, as they define a developing nation as "what they are not", wealthy. Todaro looks developing nations on a state level of analysis, whereas the UN looks at them on a more broad level, the global level of analysis. Both view developing nations in the same respect.
