Bravo! CAIR: Better Late Than Never

CAIR has announced that it will distribute a “Women Friendly Mosques” Brochure. This document is perhaps the most enlightened statement that CAIR has ever issued in its eleven-year history. This is a good beginning for their new Chairman, Dr. Parvez Ahmad. I hope that this document is a promise of more progressive thinking to come from CAIR. The document is meekly titled as a brochure when in fact it is a document that clearly lays down a new mosque policy for American Muslims. To read more click here...

Obviously this is a step in the right direction for progressive Islam. Saying that I believe a major problem with many religions is that they compromise over and over until there truth is lost and they become marginalized by society. I was wondering if there is any fear in the Muslim community that this compromise will lead to more compromises in the future and eventually lead to Islam being marginalized as Christianity has become in many ways?
Also I would like to know what the more conservative traditionalist Muslims attribute this change in policy towards. Whether they blame it on progressive Muslims such as yourself, American society or both?
