MODI’S OPERANDI: American Business and Genocide Linked Again?

One of the most outstanding films of this year was Hotel Rwanda. It gives a glimpse of the horrors of genocide in Rwanda and also reminds us that we did nothing while that happened. If Americans continue to patronize mass murderers like Narendra Modi from India, it is just a matter of time when we will be watching Hotel Gujarat. Hotel Gujarat, a film about genocide in India, will open perhaps with a shot of Narendra Modi being honored by the Asian American Hotel Owners Association. To read the entire article click.

Great post.

As a Canadian, I cannot help but identify with the similarities you've drawn between the genocide in the state of Gujarat and the genocide in the state of Rwanda. Last week, the Canadian federal government awarded Lt. Gen. Romeo Dallaire the Pearson Peace Medal for his work as commander of the UN-led peace mission in Rwanda. As depicted in Hotel Rwanda, Dallaire put in great efforts to get the UN and other major powers to respond to the death and destruction. As we know, there was no response. The message that can be taken from these events is not so much that the major powers have no interest in preventing incidents of genocide, but rather, that the institutions' "readiness" mechanisms have failed to respond quickly and adequately...we can perhaps say that the UN has received the brunt of this criticism--but we err in this regard, as the UN can't be regarded in the same mould that we regard states...and just as a building is held up by it's bricks, the UN is only as firm as its component states. (I have swayed somewhat from your original thesis.)

Musharraf the pakistani quisling of islam let loose the Kargil conflict which led to the systematic murder of 3000 human beings. This murder was planned by the pak army and government and carried out by "freedom fighters" led by pak army officers.
But Musharraf is going in and out of USA and White House freely.
Islam means submission, means mental slavery. So how can a muslim be a freedom fighter or a fighter for human rights and dignity? A muslim can only be fighter for (islamic) fascism and totalitarianism.

The architects of the Taliban are sitting in a noice house of Islamabad and receiving American tax payer dollars. Of course there are different moral standards for hypocrites

Do not compare Rwanda with Gujarat
They killed hundreds of thousands in Rwanda, and that too with a systematic planning over several years that preceeded. It's not a genocide in Gujarat, but riots that took place after burning down a train coach full of Hindus. Ofcourse one should never support such acts.
